Huddersfield Town’s badge is a heraldic-style shield with blue-and-white stripes, a terrier at the top, a Yorkshire rose, three gold stars, Castle Hill imagery, the year 1908, and a ribbon reading “Huddersfield Town.”
The crest is based on Huddersfield’s civic coat of arms, but adapted for the football club. The blue-and-white stripes reflect Town’s traditional home colours, the Yorkshire rose marks the club’s county identity, and Castle Hill is one of Huddersfield’s best-known local landmarks.
The terrier represents Huddersfield Town’s nickname, “The Terriers,” which the club adopted in the late 1960s. The three gold stars refer to Huddersfield’s three consecutive English league titles in the 1920s: 1923–24, 1924–25 and 1925–26.
The current crest was updated in 2019 as an evolution of the previous heraldic badge. In that redesign, the stars were moved inside the shield, the rose was reduced to one central Yorkshire rose, the terrier was incorporated more clearly, and the 1908 foundation year was placed around Castle Hill.
