The Scottish Premiership is the first division in Scotland. It was founded in 1890 and currently features 12 clubs. The 2024–25 champions are Celtic. Most titles: Celtic and Rangers (55 each), Aberdeen (4). Relegation is to the Scottish Championship; double round-robin, 38 matchdays with a split into top six and bottom six after 33 games, and the 12th-placed club is relegated automatically while the 11th plays a two-legged promotion/relegation play-off against the Championship play-off winner. European qualification: 2 spots for the UEFA Champions League, 2 for the Europa League (including the Scottish Cup winner), 1 for the Conference League.
