Liga MX is the top division of Mexican football. Founded in 1943, it currently features 18 clubs and uses two short tournaments each season: Apertura and Clausura. Each tournament has its own regular phase and Liguilla play-off stage to decide the champion. Toluca won the Apertura 2025 title, while the Clausura 2026 title race is being decided through the final phase. The clubs with the most Liga MX titles include Club América, Guadalajara and Toluca.
