The Ligue 1 is the first division in France. It was founded in 1932 and currently features 18 clubs. The 2024–25 champions are Paris Saint-Germain. Most titles: Paris Saint-Germain (13), Saint-Étienne (10), Marseille (9). Two clubs are relegated each season; double round-robin, 34 matchdays and the 16th plays a two-legged relegation play-off against Ligue 2’s play-off winner.. European qualification: 4 spots for the UEFA Champions League, 2 for the Europa League, 1 for the Conference League.
