Primera División, officially organized by the Asociación Paraguaya de Fútbol as the Copa de Primera, is the top division of Paraguayan football. Founded in 1906, it currently features 12 clubs and is split into two tournaments, Apertura and Clausura, each played over a double round-robin format. Olimpia won the 2026 Apertura title, while Cerro Porteño entered the season as defending Clausura champions after winning the 2025 Clausura tournament. The clubs with the most Paraguayan league titles are Olimpia, Cerro Porteño and Libertad. Relegation is decided through an average-points table, with clubs moving down to División Intermedia.
