Primera División (Paraguay) is the first division in Paraguay. It was founded in 1906 and currently features 12 clubs. The 2025 Apertura champions are Libertad. Most titles: Olimpia (47), Cerro Porteño (34), Libertad (26). Relegation is to División Intermedia; the season is split into Torneo Apertura and Torneo Clausura, each played as a double round-robin (22 matchdays), and at the end of the year the two clubs with the worst three-season points average (promedio) are relegated. Continental qualification: 4 spots for the Copa Libertadores and 4 for the Copa Sudamericana, allocated to the Apertura and Clausura champions, the best-placed non-champions in the aggregate table, and the Copa Paraguay winners.
