The Chinese Super League is the top division of professional football in China. Founded in 2004, it features 16 clubs competing in a double round-robin format, with each team playing 30 matches per season. The defending Chinese Super League champions are Shanghai Port, winners of the 2025 season, while the 2026 season is played across the calendar year. The clubs with the most Chinese Super League titles include Guangzhou FC, Shandong Taishan and Shanghai Port. Each season, the bottom clubs are relegated to China League One.
