Serie B, officially branded as Serie BKT, is the second division of Italian football. Founded in 1929, it currently features 20 clubs competing in a double round-robin format, with each team playing 38 matches per season. The current Serie B champions are Venezia, winners of the 2025–26 season. Atalanta and Genoa are among the most successful clubs in Serie B history, alongside other historic Italian clubs that have won the competition multiple times. Each season, the top two clubs are promoted directly to Serie A, additional promotion can be decided through play-offs, and the lowest-ranked clubs are relegated to Serie C, with a relegation play-out used in some seasons.
