Veikkausliiga is the top division of Finnish football. Founded in 1990, it features 12 clubs and uses a regular season followed by split championship and relegation groups to decide the final standings. The defending Veikkausliiga champions are KuPS, winners of the 2025 season, while the 2026 season is currently in progress. HJK Helsinki are the most successful club in Finnish top-flight history, with KuPS and FC Haka also among the country’s major league title winners. At the end of the season, the lowest-ranked club is relegated to Ykkösliiga, while another club may enter a relegation play-off depending on final position.
