Eliteserien is the first division in Norway. It was founded in 1937 and currently features 16 clubs. The 2024 champions are Bodø/Glimt. Most titles: Rosenborg (26), Fredrikstad (9), Viking (8). Relegation is to the Norwegian First Division (OBOS-ligaen); double round-robin, 30 matchdays, with the bottom two clubs relegated automatically and the 14th-placed team playing a promotion/relegation play-off against an OBOS-ligaen play-off winner. European qualification: 2 spots for the UEFA Champions League, 1 for the Europa League and 2 for the Conference League, allocated via league positions and the Norwegian Cup.
