Austrian Bundesliga is the first division in Austria. It was founded in 1974 and currently features 12 clubs. The 2024–25 champions are Sturm Graz. Most titles: Rapid Wien (32), Austria Wien (24), Red Bull Salzburg (17). Relegation is to the 2. Liga: after a double round-robin regular season (22 matchdays), the league splits into a championship round (top six) and relegation round (bottom six), with points halved and each club playing 10 further matches (32 matchdays total); the team finishing last in the relegation round (12th overall) is relegated automatically. European qualification: 2 spots for the UEFA Champions League, 1 for the Europa League and 2 for the Conference League, allocated via final league positions, the Austrian Cup and end-of-season play-offs.
