Cambridge United’s current badge is a simplified amber monogram crest built from the club initials “CUFC.” The circular structure keeps the long-running Cambridge United badge language, while the bridge-like top shape continues a feature that has appeared in the club’s identity since the late 1970s.
The new crest was selected as “Direction One — Evolution,” a modernised version of previous Cambridge United crests. The club described it as a simpler, sleeker design that retains the feel and shape of the two most recent badges, rather than replacing the identity completely.
Cambridge United announced the new identity in October 2024 after consultation with supporters, including more than 2,500 fan survey responses, and fully launched it across club channels in June 2025.
The amber colour is central to Cambridge United’s traditional amber-and-black home identity, while the “CUFC” lettering keeps the badge focused on the club name and the “U’s” nickname. The club was founded as Abbey United in 1912 and became Cambridge United in 1951.
