Iceland’s national team badge is a blue circular emblem with a white geometric symbol in the centre. The mark combines four abstract figures into one symmetrical design, creating a modern crest built from Icelandic folklore rather than a traditional shield.
The four figures are Iceland’s landvættir, or guardian spirits: the bull, eagle, dragon and giant. They come from Icelandic national heraldry and appear as the supporters of the country’s coat of arms, representing mythical protectors of the island.
The current badge was introduced in 2020 by the Football Association of Iceland as a separate identity for the national teams. It replaced the older KSI shield-and-football crest with a more distinctive symbol rooted in Icelandic history, folklore and national imagery.
