Romania’s national team badge is a white shield with a yellow outline, “România” at the top, and five coloured panels arranged around a black football pentagon. The yellow symbols inside the panels adapt historic Romanian heraldic motifs, including eagles, a bull’s head, a lion and a dolphin-like sea symbol.
The Romanian Football Federation introduced this national-team crest in 2017 as a modern reinterpretation of Romania’s coat of arms. The five elements represent Romania’s historic provinces, grouped around a football shape to connect national heraldry with the sport.
The badge was launched with the idea of unity: bringing Romania’s regions together inside one football identity. Its red, yellow and blue palette also reflects the colours of the Romanian flag, while the shield format gives the national team a distinct crest separate from the federation’s institutional logo.
