The UEFA Champions League (UCL) is Europe’s flagship club competition, organised by UEFA for the national league champions and top-placed clubs from its member associations. Founded in 1955 as the European Champion Clubs’ Cup and rebranded in 1992, it now features a 36-team league phase followed by a knockout bracket. The 2024–25 champions are Paris Saint-Germain. Most titles: Real Madrid (15), Milan (7), Bayern Munich (6). All clubs are placed in a single league table: each team plays eight games against different opponents, the top eight qualify directly for the round of 16, and sides finishing 9th–24th enter play-offs for the remaining spots.
