The link comes from one of Sunderland’s most familiar terrace traditions. “Can’t Help Falling in Love” has been associated with the club’s supporters for decades, and the new away shirt turns that connection into a full kit story.
A pink away kit built around Sunderland’s anthem
The 2026-27 Sunderland away shirt uses a bold pink base with black detailing across the upper section, collar and sleeves. The colorway references Elvis Presley’s early image and the pink Cadillac often associated with his visual identity.
Hummel’s sleeve chevrons appear in black, while the shirt includes repeated SAFC detailing in the fabric. Inside the neck tape, the lyric “Can’t Help Falling in Love With You” appears alongside the Sunderland crest and Elvis’ signature.
The release is more than a one-off graphic idea. Sunderland’s Elvis collaboration also includes lifestyle and warm-up pieces, with items inspired by the Blue Hawaii era and Graceland branding. The away shirt will also be sold at Graceland in Memphis during the club’s United States pre-season tour.
Another notable detail is the lack of a front-of-shirt sponsor on the retail version. The shirt launches clean, with fans able to add a future sponsor print later once confirmed by the club.
For Sunderland, it is an unusual but very specific crossover: a Premier League away kit shaped by music, supporter culture and one of the club’s most recognizable songs.
