Ireland’s national team badge is a green circular crest with an orange outer ring, “Ireland” and “Football” in white lettering, and a large green shamrock in the centre. Small green, white and orange details at the bottom reference the Irish tricolour.
The shamrock is the core symbol of the badge and one of Ireland’s most recognizable national emblems. When the Football Association of Ireland introduced the current national-team identity in 2023, it said fan and player research showed a clear desire for the shamrock to return as the central feature of the crest.
The 2023 redesign separated the national team crest from the FAI’s institutional logo. It replaced the previous federation-style badge with a cleaner Ireland Football identity built around Irish green, the shamrock and national-team heritage.
