Poland National Team badge meaning and origin

Poland’s national team badge is a red shield with a white crowned eagle, gold crown, gold beak and gold talons. The eagle is shown with its wings spread, matching the central form of Poland’s national coat of arms.

The white eagle on a red field is Poland’s historic state emblem and one of the country’s most important national symbols. On the football badge, it also connects to the team’s traditional nicknames, “The Eagles” and “The White-Reds.”

The Polish Football Association briefly moved toward a separate federation-style mark in 2011, but fan pressure led to the return of the national eagle on Poland’s shirts. The current badge keeps the team identity focused on the national coat of arms rather than a purely football-specific logo.
