Parma’s crest is a shield with a blue border and header reading “PARMA CALCIO,” divided below into two fields: on the left a white background with a bold black cross, on the right vertical yellow and blue stripes. The black cross on white comes from the post–First World War shirts worn by Parma Football Club, when the team adopted that design as its main kit and it became the club’s defining symbol.
The yellow and blue stripes echo Parma’s traditional civic colours, in use since the Duchy of Parma was created in the 16th century. Modern versions of the badge retain this combination, which the club and technical partners describe as the “two souls” of Parma Calcio.
