The red tower and blue field represent the city of Paris and echo its historic colours, while the fleur-de-lis is borrowed from the coat of arms of nearby Saint-Germain-en-Laye, recalling the town’s royal past and the birth of King Louis XIV there. The current crest, introduced in 2013, enlarged the word “Paris” and removed the old cradle and “1970” founding date to strengthen the club’s global city-focused brand.
