Olympique de Marseille’s latest badge is a simplified blue-and-white circular mark built from the club’s interlaced “O” and “M” initials. The design removes the traditional gold star and the “Droit au But” motto from this core version, leaving a cleaner monogram inside a round border.
The initials stand for Olympique de Marseille, the club founded in 1899. The famous “Droit au But” motto means “Straight to the Goal” and has long been associated with OM’s identity, although it is not shown on this latest minimalist version.
The interlaced OM monogram has been the central element of Marseille’s badge for much of the club’s history. Earlier crests used different proportions, colours and surrounding details, but the initials remained the key visual shortcut for the club.
The gold star traditionally used above the badge commemorates Marseille’s 1993 UEFA Champions League title, the first won by a French club.
