Associação Olímpica de Itabaiana’s badge is a white shield with a red border and a blue intertwined “AOI” monogram in the centre. Above the shield are five gold stars and one red star, matching the club’s tricolour identity of blue, red and white.
The initials stand for Associação Olímpica de Itabaiana, the club’s official name since the early 1950s. The colours come from the two amateur clubs that merged to create the team: Brasil Football Club used red and white, while Balípodo Club Santa Cruz used blue and white.
Itabaiana was founded on 10 July 1938 in the city of Itabaiana, Sergipe. Its first name was Botafogo Sport Club, changed later in 1938 to Itabaiana Sport Club before the current Associação Olímpica de Itabaiana name was adopted.
The stars reflect the club’s title-winning identity, including its historic state dominance and its 1971 Taça Nordeste achievement, one of the most important titles in Sergipe football history.
