F.C. Copenhagen’s badge is a circular white emblem with the club name “F.C. København” around the upper edge and a large blue lion’s head filling the centre. Red curved elements on the left side add the colours of Denmark’s flag, the Dannebrog.
The lion has been F.C. Copenhagen’s main symbol since the club was formed in 1992. The club chose it to represent strength and courage, and also because lions appear in both Copenhagen’s city crest and Danish heraldic tradition.
F.C. Copenhagen was created on 1 July 1992 as a superstructure built on Kjøbenhavns Boldklub and Boldklubben 1903. The new club needed a modern identity that belonged to the capital rather than to either predecessor alone.
The badge has kept the lion’s head, club name and Danish red-and-white reference as its core elements. Recent brand updates have refined the logo system, but the lion remains central to FCK’s identity and nickname, Løverne.
