Club Athletico Paranaense’s badge is a modern red-and-black shield mark built from four diagonal stripes, paired with the “CAP” initials in the club’s official visual system. The stripes lean upward and form a simplified, sharp-edged emblem rather than a traditional round or monogram crest.
The 2018 design was introduced as part of the club’s rebrand from Clube Atlético Paranaense to Club Athletico Paranaense. Its four stripes refer to the four winds, while the diagonal arrangement echoes the flag of Paraná. The rising shape was designed to suggest the club’s growth, and the overall form also takes inspiration from the letter “F,” linked to the nickname Furacão.
Athletico was officially founded in Curitiba on 26 March 1924, after the union of Internacional and América. Earlier badges used more conventional shield shapes, initials and red-and-black striping before the club adopted its current minimalist identity.
The 2018 rebrand deliberately restored the older “Athletico” spelling while creating one of the most distinctive modern badges in Brazilian football.
