Villarreal CF’s badge is built around a dark blue circular emblem containing a yellow rhombus with vertical red stripes, over which sit the black initials “CVF”, all topped by a detailed royal crown. The striped diamond reprises the colours of the Valencian senyera and symbolises Vila-real itself, with the crest effectively placing the town’s heraldic core at its centre.
In 1954 Villarreal adopted this basic composition with the yellow-and-red rhombus and initials, and a 1966 update replaced the original white French-style frame with the blue ring that still surrounds the emblem today. The crown above the centre follows Spanish royal heraldic forms and sits naturally with the city’s name, Vila-real, which literally means “Royal Town.”
