Sevilla FC badge meaning and origin

Sevilla FC’s crest is a heart-shaped white shield edged in red, divided into three sections: on the left a detailed scene of three seated figures, on the right the intertwined initials “SFC”, and below vertical red and white stripes with a classic brown football where the three fields meet. The current badge is based on the design created in 1921–22 by Pablo Rodríguez Blanco and officially adopted a century ago.

The three figures are the city’s patron saints from Seville’s coat of arms – Ferdinand III of Castile enthroned in the centre, flanked by Isidore of Seville and Leander of Seville – directly tying the emblem to municipal iconography. The lower stripes mirror the club’s traditional red-and-white colours, making the shield a compact summary of city, faith and football identity.
