Persib long used 14 March 1933 as its foundation date, but the club officially changed its anniversary in 2023 to 5 January 1919 after historical research linked its origins to the formation of Bandoengsch Inlansch Voetbal Bond. That explains why newer Persib branding may omit the old 1933 date from the crest.
