Málaga CF’s badge uses a gold-edged shield divided between a city scene, a diagonal white band and blue-and-white vertical stripes. The club name crosses the centre over a yellow football, while the upper-left section shows Gibralfaro Castle above the coastline of Málaga.
Gibralfaro Castle links the badge directly to the city’s historic landscape, while the blue-and-white stripes represent Málaga’s traditional football colours. The small “TM” letters refer to the club’s motto, “Tanto Monta,” a phrase historically associated with the Catholic Monarchs and also present in Málaga civic symbolism.
Málaga CF was founded in 1948 as Club Atlético Malagueño and became the city’s main club after the disappearance of CD Málaga in the early 1990s. The current club adopted the Málaga CF name in 1994.
The badge keeps continuity with older Málaga football emblems by combining the city landmark, the ball, the blue-and-white colours and the diagonal club-name band into one recognisable shield.
