Fluminense’s badge is a pointed shield with a thin white outline, split horizontally into a deep garnet upper half and dark green lower half, dominated by a large, flowing white “FFC” monogram whose interlaced letters fill almost the entire crest. That monogram stands for Fluminense Football Club and, according to club histories, was refined in 1904 when the shield first adopted the three tricolour bands and a grouped “FFC,” replacing an earlier, simpler mark.
The elegant script is often noted as having Swiss graphic influence, a nod to founder Oscar Cox’s time in Lausanne. The garnet-green-white palette, unique in world football, has come to be read as symbolising nature (green), peace (white) and dignity (garnet), reinforcing the club’s Tricolor identity.
