Danubio Fútbol Club’s badge is a white shield with a black border, a white top panel carrying the black initials “D F C,” and a bold black diagonal sash running across the main field. The design is stark and uncluttered, built entirely around the club’s initials and its black-and-white identity.
The initials stand for Danubio Fútbol Club, founded in Montevideo in 1932 by the Lazaroff brothers and other local youths in Curva de Maroñas. The club’s black-and-white colours were chosen in homage to Montevideo Wanderers, the last amateur champions of Uruguay.
Danubio first used a striped black-and-white shirt, but later adopted the diagonal sash to create a more distinctive look. That sash became the club’s defining visual element and remains the core of Danubio’s badge identity today.
