Remo’s earliest symbol, from 1905 to 1911, was linked to its foundation as Grupo do Remo, a rowing club, and used a navy rectangle with a white anchor and thirteen stars. After the club’s 1911 reorganization, the design changed to a lifebuoy-style badge crossed by oars, with “Grupo do Remo” and the initials “GR.”
When the club adopted the name Clube do Remo in 1914, the initials changed from “GR” to “CR.” The current mark, formalized after later refinements, keeps that historic monogram-and-shield identity.
