Al Hilal Saudi Football Club’s badge is a single blue monogram built from vertical geometric shapes and curved negative-space cuts. The design forms a shield-like symbol while combining the English letter “H” with an Arabic-inspired “Al-H” shape, without using a written club name, founding year or football.
The crescent shapes inside the mark connect directly to the club’s name, Al Hilal, which means “the crescent moon” in Arabic. The blue colour reflects the club’s long-established visual identity and its famous association with the “Blue Waves” nickname.
Al Hilal was founded in Riyadh in 1957 under the name Olympic Club before being renamed Al Hilal by King Saud later that year. The crescent has been central to the club’s identity across older badges, including versions with a ball and crescent motif.
The current badge was introduced in 2022 as a major rebrand, replacing the older detailed crest with a simplified symbol designed to work across football, other club sports and digital branding.
