Germany National Team badge meaning and origin

Germany’s national team crest appears here in a special gold-only edition: a circular badge with a stylised federal eagle in the centre, surrounded by the inscription “DEUTSCHER FUSSBALL-BUND” and framed by double rings, with four five-pointed stars arched above. The eagle is directly derived from the Bundesadler in Germany’s federal coat of arms, a long-standing symbol of state authority and national unity that has anchored DFB emblems since the early 20th century.

The four stars were first introduced as three in the mid-1990s and expanded to four after the 2014 World Cup, each one representing a German world title in 1954, 1974, 1990 and 2014.
