Lecce’s badge is a dark blue shield with a thin gold border, the club name “U.S. LECCE 1908” at the top and a stylised golden she-wolf walking beneath a holm oak tree. The wolf under the leccio is lifted directly from the civic emblem of the city of Lecce and has appeared, in more or less detailed form, on the club’s crests since the 1970s.
The holm oak recalls a tree typical of Apulia and plays on the city’s name itself, historically linked to the Latin Lupiae.
The giallorossi colours, adopted in 1929 from the provincial coat of arms, are echoed in the small red-and-yellow band near the top of the shield, tying together regional colours, city symbol and club identity.
