Criciúma Esporte Clube’s badge is a modern black-and-yellow mark built from four angular geometric shapes above the word “Criciúma E.C.” Three yellow stars sit above the emblem, and the design removes the older enclosing shield while keeping the club’s traditional colours.
The yellow, black and white identity dates from 1984, when Criciúma moved away from the blue-and-white colours of Comerciário. In the club’s historical explanation, yellow refers to the region’s wealth, black to coal, and white to a colour present in other clubs that had existed in the city.
Criciúma was founded on 13 May 1947 as Comerciário Esporte Clube and later became Criciúma Esporte Clube as part of a broader effort to represent the city directly. The three stars represent the 1991 Copa do Brasil, 2002 Série B and 2006 Série C titles.
The 2025 modernization, created for use from 2026, simplified the lines, highlighted the “Criciúma” name and restored proportions inspired by the club’s 1980s mark.
