Al Ettifaq (الاتفاق) badge meaning and origin

Al Ettifaq Club’s badge uses a circular green, white and red design with the club name written in English at the top and Arabic at the bottom. The centre shows a rearing green horse above the founding year 1945, framed by curved rings and laurel-style wreaths on both sides.

The horse is linked to the club’s famous nickname, “Faris Al-Dahna,” or “The Knight of Ad-Dahna.” Saudi sources describe the logo as being inspired by that identity, with the Arabian horse surrounded by victory wreaths. The red and green colours have also been part of the club’s long-running visual identity.

Al Ettifaq was formed in Dammam after the merger of three local clubs: Al-Taawoun, Al-Sha’ab and Al-Shabab. The name “Al Ettifaq” means “the agreement,” reflecting that founding union.

The current badge keeps the club’s traditional circular format while presenting its horse symbol, bilingual name and 1945 date in a cleaner modern style.
