Al Ahli (الأهلي) badge meaning and origin

Al Ahli Saudi Football Club’s badge uses a green shield with a white and dark-blue border, “JED” on the left and the founding year 1937 on the right. The centre features a white palm tree, while a diagonal white band carries the Arabic motto “Together Throughout Time.” The club name appears below in Arabic and English.

The palm tree is a historic Al Ahli motif and links the badge to the club’s traditional identity. “JED” refers to Jeddah, the Red Sea city where Al Ahli was founded, while the motto highlights the long bond between the club and its supporters.

Al Ahli was founded in Jeddah in 1937 and is one of Saudi Arabia’s oldest major football clubs. Its green-and-white identity has long been central to the club’s image, alongside nicknames such as “Al-Raqi” and “Al-Malaki.”

The current shield was unveiled in 2025 as part of a new visual identity inspired by Al Ahli’s historical emblems, bringing back a more classic crest shape while keeping the club’s foundation year and Jeddah identity visible.
