Santos FC’s badge is a black-edged, white shield topped by two yellow five-pointed stars, with a white upper panel containing a vintage brown-toned football in the left corner and a bold black diagonal band carrying the white initials “S.F.C.” above a lower section of narrow black and white vertical stripes. This shield format, without the old globe and crown, was fixed in 1925 and has changed very little since, becoming one of Brazil’s most recognisable crests.
The two stars, added in 1968, honour Santos’s back-to-back Intercontinental Cup wins in 1962 and 1963. The black-and-white palette reflects the club’s alvinegro identity and is often said to symbolise purity (white) and strength (black).
