FC Twente’s badge is a red shield with a white outline, carrying a dynamic white rearing horse with a flowing mane above subtle panel lines that suggest a football, and the inscriptions “F.C. TWENTE” at the top and “1965” at the base. The horse is the Twentsche Ros, the regional Saxon Steed that also appears on the flag of Twente, symbolising the area’s Saxon heritage and making the crest a direct emblem of the region rather than just the city of Enschede.  

The year 1965 marks the merger of Sportclub Enschede and Enschedese Boys that created FC Twente, with this shield-and-horse formula established from the club’s earliest logos and refined in the modern version seen today.
