Brighton & Hove Albion’s badge is a clean blue-and-white roundel with a stylised white seagull in mid-flight across a blue centre, ringed by the words “BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION” in a white band.
The seagull symbol, echoing the club’s “Seagulls” nickname and its seaside home on England’s south coast, first appeared on the crest in the late 1970s after fans and players embraced the bird as a more distinctive emblem than the briefly used dolphin.
The current circular design, introduced in 2011, deliberately updates those 1970s–80s round badges with sharper lines and digital-friendly proportions, keeping the gull and the simple blue-and-white palette as the core of Brighton’s visual identity.
