Avaí Futebol Clube’s badge has a rounded triangular shield shape with a white upper panel carrying “AVAÍ F.C.” in blue. The lower section is filled with vertical blue-and-white stripes, and a yellow star is placed above the badge.

The badge was created from the club’s original striped uniform, which used blue and white shirts donated at the time of the club’s foundation. The colours were chosen in tribute to Clube de Remo Riachuelo, while the name Avahy, later modernized to Avaí, was inspired by the Battle of Avahy from the Paraguayan War.

Avaí was founded in Florianópolis on 1 September 1923. In its early years, the club used a different badge with an “AFC” monogram inside a circular field, reflecting the original Avahy Foot-ball Club name before the modern Avaí Futebol Clube identity became established.

The yellow star above the badge was added after Avaí won the 1998 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C, the club’s first national title.
