Atlético Clube Goianiense’s badge is a modern red-and-black shield with a white outline and a stylized dragon head forming the main shape. The design uses the club’s traditional colours and appears alongside the older intertwined “ACG” monogram, which the club kept as part of its official visual identity.
The dragon connects directly to Atlético Goianiense’s nickname, Dragão, while the red and black colours have been part of the club since its foundation. The initials “ACG” stand for Atlético Clube Goianiense, the club founded in Goiânia on 2 April 1937.
Atlético’s early badges used large intertwined ACG letters before the club adopted a more traditional inverted triangular shield. That triangular version, used for decades and later adapted with stars, became strongly associated with the club’s rise in Goiás and Brazilian football.
In 2020, Atlético Goianiense introduced the current dragon-head shield as a third official badge, modernizing the identity while preserving the historical monogram for club materials.
