Paysandu Sport Club’s badge is a blue-and-white shield with the large initials “PSC” across the upper sections. At the centre is a white winged foot, and three stars appear above the badge: one gold star in the middle and two silver stars on each side.
The initials stand for Paysandu Sport Club, the Belém club founded on 2 February 1914. The winged foot was created by Mário Bayma and was explained as a symbol of the team’s speed, suggesting that Paysandu would reach the limits of flight.
The club name was chosen in reference to Paysandú, a city in Uruguay, during the foundation of a new club by members connected to Norte Club. The blue-and-white identity became the basis of Paysandu’s alviceleste visual tradition.
The two silver stars represent Paysandu’s Série B titles in 1991 and 2001. The central gold star marks the 2002 Copa dos Campeões title.
