Mazatlán FC’s badge is a circular purple crest with light-blue trim, “Mazatlán Futbol Club” around the outer ring and the Roman numerals “MM” and “XX” for 2020. At the centre, a dark shield contains an anchor, a football, crossed cannons and the city’s lighthouse.
The anchor refers to Mazatlán’s identity as a Pacific port, while the lighthouse points to El Faro, one of the city’s best-known landmarks. The crossed cannons reference the defence of the port during foreign attacks, especially the 1864 episode often cited in the club’s launch material.
The club’s purple, black and light-blue palette was introduced as part of its original identity, with purple tied to Mazatlán’s famous sunsets and light blue to the sea. The circular rays around the badge were presented as a sunrise motif.
Mazatlán FC was founded in 2020 after the Monarcas Morelia franchise moved to Sinaloa. Its badge was unveiled in June 2020 for the club’s Liga MX debut.
