Guarani Futebol Clube’s badge is a green circular emblem with a white outer ring and the intertwined initials “GFC” in the centre. The full club name surrounds the monogram, and the badge is commonly shown with a gold star above it.
The initials stand for Guarani Futebol Clube, the Campinas club founded in 1911. Its name comes from Il Guarany, the opera by Campinas-born composer Carlos Gomes, itself based on José de Alencar’s novel O Guarani. The green-and-white colours are the club’s traditional alviverde identity.
Guarani’s badge history includes several shapes and monograms. The first known emblem used the initials of Guarany Foot-Ball Club, while later versions introduced circular forms, a large “G” and fuller club-name layouts before the modern GFC monogram became standard.
The gold star above the badge refers to Guarani’s 1978 Campeonato Brasileiro title, still the only Brazilian top-flight championship won by a club from the interior of the country.
