The modern outline is lifted from the old borough-style shield, but the broad black side panels and white centre deliberately echo Fulham’s traditional colours, with red added as a striking accent for shirts and merchandise.

The crest was introduced after research showed the previous coat-of-arms badge was poorly recognised and, because it belonged to Hammersmith & Fulham Council, difficult to trademark, prompting a complete rebrand under Mohamed Al-Fayed. The central bar subtly traces the letters “FFC” – an optical trick some supporters only noticed years later, giving this otherwise stark logo a small cult talking point.
