Brentford’s badge is a bold red roundel with a stylised black-and-yellow bee at its centre, the club name “BRENTFORD FOOTBALL CLUB” and founding year 1889 running around the edge in white.  The bee reflects the club’s long-standing nickname “The Bees,” which originated in the 1890s when a local newspaper misheard students chanting “B’s” for Brentford and turned it into “Bees.”

Introduced for the 2017–18 season, the crest was designed by London studio Article as a simpler, digital-friendly replacement for the busier shield used from 1993, drawing inspiration from a 1970s round badge and a 1960s supporters’ emblem.  The angular, aggressive bee illustration by Peter Horridge and clean typography give the club a modern identity while keeping the insect symbol that has defined Brentford for decades.
